Christmas decorations in two of the main shopping streets in the West End of London, UK, were switched on Nov 24. They take the form of angles in Regent Street, and giant snow-flakes in Oxford Street.
It is the second year the authorities have allowed the lights right over the roadway in Regent Street. There are 46 angels each 12 feet tall and internally illuminated. And each of these golden-haired angels is blowing a long golden trumpet. They are in pairs, facing each other, down the length of the street...hovering above the shoppers.
In near-by Oxford Street there are 150 of the giant snow-flakes. Inside are hundreds of lamps. They are multi-coloured, and glitter high over the traffic....
